This is an interactive course; Skillbuild are not experts in emergency response. We are experts in battery and hybrid electric vehicles (BHEVs) and safely working with them.

The course covers the following subjects;

• Hybrid Electric Vehicles
• Battery Electric Vehicles
• Components in the vehicle
• Lithium batteries – how they work and safety issues for responders
• Identifying BHEVs
• Individual vehicle manufacturers instructions for first responders
• Inbuilt collision sensors in BHEVs
• Fires
• PPE
• Isolating the battery pack
• Testing that the vehicle is safe to touch
• Issues for towing – regenerative charging as the wheels turn
• Interlocks preventing vehicle movement
• The App – ANCAP
• Storing BHEVs

• 5 hours with Zoom
• Final test of 20 questions
• Statement of Attendance issued
• Cost $500 plus GST
